a bad investment. They typically only add half their cost to the value of your home. You will never get the money back if/when you sell. Some buyers even see them as a detriment (potential leaks, upkeep,etc). After a pool is 20-25 yrs old they become major problems (cracks,etc from earthquakes) If you're putting a pool in you better like to swim....A LOT. Also that you like cleaning leaves/debris out of it, not to mention astronomical gas bills to heat the thing.
